Chengdu: Kim Kyong-hwa scored in extra-time as DPR Korea kept alive their hopes of staging a successful AFC Women's Asian Cup title defence after edging out hosts China 1-0 after a gruelling encounter at Chengdu Sports Centre on Thursday.
Chances were at a premium throughout as both sides cancelled each other
out and it came as no surprise as 90 minutes failed to find a winner.
But finally, with both teams visibly tired, Kim fired home in the 107th minute to send DPR Korea through to Sunday's final against Australia.
